I agree to the following terms and conditions.
ASLMS SILENT AUCTION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Proceeds from this auction will be used to expand the
Society’s research and education programs and to make grants for research
projects relating to the use of lasers in medicine and surgery. The excess
value of the bid over the item’s assigned fair market value may be tax
deductible. Please consult your tax preparer.
1)
Participating in
the auction constitutes acceptance of the Terms and Conditions of this auction.
2)
Online bidding
opens for ASLMS Members on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 and closes on Thursday, April
4, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. Bidding will resume live on-site at the Silent Auction to
all conference attendees at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013 and will continue
until 6:30 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013.
3)
The ASLMS cannot
be held responsible for server down time, or a bidder’s inability to access our
Web site which may affect timely submission of bids. Silent Auction terms and
conditions will be available on the ASLMS Web site at
www.aslms.org.
4)
ASLMS reserves
the right to request from a bidder confirmation of available funds, such as a
bank letter of credit, to support the validity of any bid.
5)
The winning bid
on each item will be determined by the highest bid over minimum starting bid
received. Winning bids will be announced in the Exhibit Hall at the Sheraton
Boston Hotel/Hynes Convention Center in Boston, MA at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday,
April 6, 2013.
6)
ASLMS reserves
the right to hold the bidding open for any item which does not receive the
minimum bid prior to the scheduled closing time of the Silent Auction. If the
bidding is held open on any item, the winning bid on that item will then be the
first bid that meets or exceeds the minimum bid. Only ASLMS members will be
eligible to bid online after the close of bidding at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday,
April 6, 2013. Bidding for items which did not receive the minimum bid will
resume for Members on Wednesday, April 10, 2013.
7)
By placing a bid,
you are making a legally binding and irrevocable agreement to purchase the item
at a price equal to your bid. If your bid is the high bid, you are legally
obligated to purchase the item at that price, and pay shipping and handling
costs and any use tax due to the state in which the item will be used.
8)
Winning bidders
must arrange for payment by reporting to the ASLMS registration desk on-site
during scheduled registration open hours, or by contacting the ASLMS Central
Office by email (information@aslms.org),
by telephone (715) 845-9283, or by fax (715) 848-2493 no later than Monday,
April 15, 2013, or, if bidding on an item is held open after the close of the
Annual Conference, within five days after being notified of having submitted the
winning bid. Winning online bidders will be notified by an ASLMS staff member
as soon as possible following conclusion of the Silent Auction. Failure to make
payment arrangements as required by this paragraph will automatically disqualify
the winning bid and the next highest bidder will be declared the winner.
9)
Acceptable
methods of payment in U.S. currency include cash, or the purchase price may be
charged to the bidder’s personal or business Visa, MasterCard or American
Express credit card. After the conference, acceptable methods of payment are
cash, certified personal or company check, money order, or cashier’s check
payable to ASLMS, or the purchase price may be charged to the bidder’s personal
or business Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit card.
10)
ASLMS is unable
to grant refunds or accept returns on these donated items.
